For many construction companies, the year 2009 will always be a year to remember. It was the timing of the economic down-turn in Asheville, North Carolina. The Western Carolina town known for its restaurants, breweries, and scenery was giving opportunity for many builders and construction companies through 2008. And then, 2009 arrived. The slow down was gradual for many, and by 2012, the recession hit an all time low point for construction in the area, especially commercial.

The mountain region was hit hard, and new business projects seemed to halt. By 2015 it was on a rise, yet 2016 brought it back to an all time high since 2008 according to the city’s permit records.
