The Oscars of the food industry, James Beard Foundation, announced its list of Restaurant and Chef Award semifinalists for the 30th annual James Beard Awards and Asheville is well represented.
Best New Restaurant semifinalist – Cultura
Outstanding Chef semifinalist – John Fleer of Rhubarb
Rising Star Chef of the Year semifinalist – Ashleigh Shanti of Benne on Eagle
Approximately a month ago, Yelp named West Asheville’s, Sunny Point Cafe, #91, on their list of ‘America’s Top 100 Places to Eat in 2020.’
Food and Wine published an article mentioning Asheville again, as The Best Food City in America, according to Yelp. The app dubbed our city a “regional-food powerhouse” with a slew of restaurants, breweries, and food businesses “powered by generations-old family farms.”
Last but not least, French Broad Chocolate Lounge landed a live spot on Good Morning America due to being on the top of Yelp’s ‘Top Foodie Destinations of 2020’.
The number of restaurants serving food is extensive. It is hard to have a favorite anymore.
