Beer City. Barbecue. Bacon. These three B’s can easily be associated with Asheville, North Carolina, but there is one more you need to know about. Burgers. There are some incredible burgers in Asheville, and we have your guide.

1- Pack’s Tavern – Pack’s Tavern has an extensive menu selection, and their burgers stand as some of the best. If you are gearing up to watch some NFL playoffs or soccer European Soccer, there really is not a better place to enjoy a craft beer, burger, and the games. Our favorite burgers from the menu include the Mt. Mitchell Burger (cheddar, bacon, swiss, fried green tomato, sunny side up egg, and jalapenos) and the Carolina Bison Burger.

Pack’s is located in downtown Asheville at 20 South Spruce Street.

2- Farm Burger – Asheville’s fast food version of the burger, farm fresh and made with local ingredients. With two Asheville locations, downtown at 10 Patton Ave and 1831 Hendersonville Road in South Asheville, it is a local favorite. Here, you can create your own or choose from one of the favorites on the blackboard. Selections include Vegan, chicken, and lamb options.

3- Juicy Lucy’s Burger Bar & Grill – Home of the stuffed cheese burger, this family owned burger joint also thrives on local farm fresh ingredients. (If you have not figured out, most Asheville cuisine is local, fresh, and pure yumminess) They are known not just for their burgers, but their wings, and their homemade baked buns. (They also have 22 beers on tap)

4- Burgerworx – Located in the Grove Arcade, Burgerworx is your solution to the make your own burger. It is probably the fastest solution to enjoying a burger in Asheville, and seems to be a favorite among families with teenagers.

5- Universal Joint (UJ’s) – West Asheville’s gem of a restaurant. They have great wings, some of the best, however the burgers have street cred. Our favorites include the Steinbeck Burger (pimento cheese, bacon, and jalapeños) and the Swiss Mushroom (swiss cheese and sautéed mushrooms). The tater tots are pretty great too.
