Favorite Asheville Breakfast Spots to Create Holiday Memories.

The Holidays are in full swing in Asheville. With previous snow sparking some “White Christmas” spirit, kids young and old are anxiously awaiting the festivities and playtime that this time of year brings. Gathering with family, friends, coworkers, and more, is typically centered around food. Leisurely breakfasts in one of our favorite things about the holidays, so we have rounded up a few of our favorite Asheville Breakfast go-to’s to brighten your holidays with warm, yummy culinary goodness.

Stoney Knob Cafe –

Located in Weaverville, North Carolina, this gem often gets overlooked in reviews. It’s eclectic decor is part of its charm, yet the food is what really brings it home. There is no competition for the latest, innovative dish, they simply serve great food with an ambience that brings all the feel good of yesteryears. It’s no secret I love the Coconut Cream pie, but their brunch menu is out of this world. Order a Bloody Mary, Mimosa, or coffee to start your morning, and sit back, relax and enjoy.

Having traveled the world critiquing food, I can say this – hands down, Stoney Knob Cafe owns the title to The Best Chicken and Waffles around. All of the menu items are delightful, but if you want to taste perfection – chicken and waffles.

The Market Place

Located in downtown Asheville on Wall Street, this is a favorite go to. Why? The bar is nice and open and the restaurant has sufficient lighting, offering a very comforting and welcoming feeling. This is the place you want to have brunch when you want to order a bottle (or two) of champagne and enjoy culinary delights or lighter fare. It is both the mood and the integrity of Chef William Dissen in his creations that invite. As a Seafood Watch Ambassador with the Monterrey Bay Aquarium, his goal is to serve sustainable delights that will keep you wanting to experience all of the seasons of Asheville.

Moose Cafe –

Now, let’s just say you are looking for some homegrown kitchen pancake love. You want the feel of the small cafe and the smell of coffee steaming from a glass pot like Grandpa used to have. Syrup, butter, and jam for toast is more your style than keeping up with the latest in Asheville culinary accolades. If this sounds like your speed, and you want to eat where the locals eat, Moose Cafe may be perfect for you. Convenient to Biltmore and South Asheville. Have a few laughs over orange juice and hash browns with the family, and enjoy a light-hearted, spirited breakfast like the ones you grew up with.

Enjoy your Asheville Breakfast moments this holiday season.
